Project Overview: A complete gut-and-rebuild of a dated master bathroom in The Woodlands, documented from demo day to the finished space. The original bath had the classic 1990s builder package — corner jetted tub on a tile deck, cramped travertine shower, and heavy brown walls. It’s now a bright, modern retreat with a custom double vanity, white quartz counters, a fully waterproofed tile shower behind frameless glass, and all-new lighting and fixtures — and the transformation carried into the kitchen, too (see below). (Out of respect for our client’s privacy we don’t publish project addresses — but we’re happy to show you the work: schedule a walk-through.)

The Work You Don’t See in After Photos

The difference between a remodel that lasts and one that leaks is behind the tile. Every wet surface in this bathroom — the new shower and the custom tub surround — was fully waterproofed with a RedGard membrane before a single tile went up. It’s the same approach we explain in our post on why showers leak, applied on a real job.

The finished space pairs the custom cabinetry with white quartz, brushed-brass plumbing and hardware, backlit mirrors and all-new tile flooring. Every wet surface behind the tile is membrane-waterproofed — the part of the remodel you’ll never see, and the part that matters most.

The Kitchen: Same Home, Same Standard

The owners brought the same vision to the kitchen. The stained-wood cabinets, granite counters and heavy earth tones made way for two-tone painted cabinetry, marble-look quartz on the island and perimeter, glass pendants and a far brighter palette — while keeping the professional-grade range and built-in refrigerator that already worked beautifully.

Also on This Project: Front Door Refinishing

While the bathroom was underway, the homeowners asked us to bring their weathered front door back to life — stripped to bare wood and refinished on site.
